Pros: Customization, high quality acoustics,
Cons: Customization can be a handicap, lots of pieces to lose, noise pollution,
"This stethoscope is a high quality piece of equipment to have when you're working in an indoor, safe, controlled environment. Anywhere else, its performance suffers. The two tube design can cause noise pollution from the tubes rubbing together, and makes it bulky enough that it can't pack down tightly. The interchangeable chest pieces and bells allow for a great deal of customization, but also mean more to pack and more small pieces to get lost. And the customization isn't something there's time to worry about in a fast moving call, regardless. A great stethoscope for a controlled hospital job, but not something I use in an ER shift or on an ambulance, and certainly not in the wilderness."
