Pros: lightweight, versatile, affordable
"Really, for any splinting job the SAM splint is superior to almost any other commercial splint. It is so light, you can mold it to form a forearm or stabalize an ankle. It is such a cool thing, well worth carrying in remote areas...in fact, I carry two!"

Pros: Compact, great flexibility, Lightweight
Cons: Sharp edges can be made when cutting to fit, use caution and pad the exposed aluminium surface's
"The SAM Slpint is a must for any first aid kit. I use these on a regular basis and have them readily available in my personal kits, as well as, on the job. They can be quickly and easily manipulated into any shape in order to conform to the injured extremity. The lightweight, flexible construction allow the SAM Splint to be easily stored and carried in some of the smallest first aid kits."
